What we can do for you
Home care is rarely just one thing. Usually several things overlap — personal care, medication, a wound that needs treating, and family members who need relief. Nura covers all of it together.
Personal care
Daily care of the body is the heart of our work — and the most personal part. We take the time it needs and work in an enabling way: what you can do yourself, you do yourself. We help where it no longer works alone.
Enabling care means: we do not simply take over. Abilities that are still there should be preserved — in the long run that is the greater gain in independence.
This includes
- Washing, showering, bathing — fully or in part
- Mouth, dental and denture care
- Skin and nail care, shaving
- Dressing and undressing
- Help with eating and drinking
- Toileting, incontinence care, stoma
- Positioning, transfers, mobilisation
- Prevention (pressure ulcers, contractures, falls)
Nursing care
These are the services prescribed by a doctor — in Luxembourg the actes infirmiers. They are carried out exclusively by qualified nurses (infirmier/infirmière) and billed according to the CNS nomenclature.
A medical prescription (ordonnance) is always the basis. We keep an eye on its validity and get in touch in good time before it expires.
This includes
- Preparing and administering medication
- Injections (subcutaneous, intramuscular)
- Blood glucose measurement and insulin
- Blood samples and swabs
- Infusions and port care
- Urinary catheters: insertion, change, irrigation
- Stoma care, gastric tube, tube feeding
- Inhalation and oxygen therapy
- Compression bandaging
Wound care
Chronic wounds need patience, expertise and above all one thing: uninterrupted observation. Only someone who knows the progress can tell whether a treatment is working or needs to change.
That is why we document every wound with measurements, the state of the wound bed, exudate, wound edge and surrounding skin — and record the progress over time, with photographs where useful. This gives your doctor a solid basis for decisions.
This includes
- Dressing changes as prescribed
- Chronic wounds (pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic foot)
- Surgical wounds, removal of sutures and staples
- Wound cleansing and debridement
- Wound documentation with measurements and progress
- Pressure ulcer prevention and positioning plan
- Coordination with doctor and wound specialists
Companionship and respite
Care is more than washing. Many people need one thing above all: someone who is there. And family carers need time for themselves without a guilty conscience.
We take on hours you can rely on — occasionally, regularly, or to bridge a difficult period.
This includes
- Conversation and company
- Accompaniment to doctors and authorities
- Walks and activation
- Supervision in dementia
- Relief for family carers
- Teaching relatives care techniques
Household help
A well-kept home is part of quality of life. When the household can no longer be managed alone, we support you — so that home stays home rather than becoming a burden.
This includes
- Keeping the home in order
- Washing, drying and ironing laundry
- Shopping and errands
- Preparing meals
- Waste, post, short trips
Not sure what you need?
You do not have to decide alone. We come by, look at the situation calmly and tell you honestly what makes sense.
